A Quest for True Comfort

Robin Macan founded vabsRider to solve a 200-year-old problem: the static bicycle saddle. What began as a painful ride to his late mother’s house evolved into a breakthrough in biomechanics. Today, the vabsRider is the result of Robin's commitment to engineering a pain-free future for every cyclist.

The word ‘ataraxy’ refers to a state of serene calmness and freedom from distress—a feeling we believe every cyclist deserves. At ataraxyBSC, we combine engineering precision with anatomical research to create a bike seat that move with the human body, not against it.

The virtual axis: the heart of our innovation

Our Virtual Axis technology mimics natural hip rotation, neutralising sit-bone pressure and soft-tissue compression. It’s the breakthrough that makes ataraxy – serene calmness – a cycling reality.

While our product was designed in Australia, ataraxyBSC serves a global community of commuters, e-bikers and touring enthusiasts. Shipping internationally via this website, we are actively expanding our network of partners and distributors to deliver pain-free cycling to everyone, no matter where they ride.

" I am someone with a love of riding that has suffered from significant back pain which has limited my joy of riding since I retired. After testing the product, I very much looked forward to riding each day using this seat."

" I rode 5 hours sitting on the bicycle seat and I did 85km in that time. The seat was great, I found it surprisingly comfortable! If you’re having any problems with pain in the (soft) tissue area the vabsRider absolutely solves that problem."

" I had a fracture of the knee many years back. This is much more comfortable for my knee. After 45 minutes on the vabsRider, I didn’t feel any back or bum pain as compared with a normal seat."
